English Bulldog

aka The Bulldogaka The English Bullaka Churchill's Dog
"Once fought bulls. Now fights for the best spot on the couch."
Stubborn. Loyal. Utterly unmovable.

The Story Behind the Breed

The English Bulldog was originally bred in 13th-century England for bull-baiting — a blood sport that was finally banned in 1835. When the fighting ended, breeders kept the courage and loyalty but softened the temperament. The result is a dog who looks like a bouncer but acts like a baby. Churchill chose the Bulldog as the symbol of British resolve. The breed has never stopped earning that.

"Stubborn. Loyal. Utterly unmovable."
